It’s important to take time to get your profile photo right
There are so many ‘cring’ moments we encounter when scanning the dating sites. All too often we swipe left within a nano of a second because the photo we see doesn’t appeal. How much better engagement would there be if the swipe left was converted. A decent, well lit pic has the power for us to investigate further – with the potential for an interested viewer to learn more about you…so yes…a good pic will make a difference…
Here are a few of our tips
#1 Don’t use group photos as a profile pic – it’s just about you
#2 Do Smile – it attracts more attention and intuitively make you look friendlier
#3 Don’t do a selfie – especially taken in a mens or ladies public toilet yes, people do that way too often – instead have a friend take a decent photo of you or put your phone on a timer
4# Don’t apply any filters ladies – you are gorgeous just the way you are
5# Don’t shoot in direct sunlight – it creates a silhouette – the pic must be clear – after all – what can we tell about you if you hide behind a shadow
6# Do look directly at the camera – try different angles and be creative and have fun with it
7# Don’t use an old photo- it must be recent – if you don’t have any – then get a friend to take some of you – or use the time delay on your smartphone
8# Do edit – take some time to crop, edit, increase the lighting, make sure there are no trees or other objects sticking out of your head
